ANNOUNCEMENTS

Meet and Greet was a

Success

Today riders were invited to come and meet the new Chapter 10 officers. The turnout was fantastic. It was awesome to see so many chapter 10 riders at the same place at the same time. Several riders were able to get their dues paid and we even signed up a few new riders. Free food was supplied by Iris and Cervantes as well as BBQ and Cake from other Legion family members and friends. I would like to say a big thank you to the Post for letting us use the hall and to Luis for his amazing bartending. I couldn't have asked for a better start to the 2014 year. Thank you to everyone who helped make this event happen and everyone that attended. I am excited to keep the momentum rolling and watch this chapter grow and flourish. Make sure to check out all new events posted under the "upcoming events" section and on the calendar.

A Loss in the Family

It is with the heaviest of hearts that we say goodbye to a friend and member of the Legion family. Donna Padilla passed away yesterday after a motorcycle accident. She leaves behind two sons. An account for them is being established and information will be distributed as soon as it becomes available. Please keep her family in your prayers during this painful time of loss.

A loss in the family

The Riders wish to offer our condolences to Post 69 Commander and rider associate, Dave Stevens on the recent loss of his mother in law. Our thoughts and prayers are with him in this time of grief and loss.

National Commander

Visits New Mexico

The American Legion National Commander, Daniel M. Dellinger, spent a week traveling across New Mexico visiting many of the Legion Posts. He was welcomed from the airport by a large group of Legion Riders that escorted him to Post 49 and then later to his hotel. On Monday night he came to a dinner at the post and spoke about his plans for the upcoming year. A huge thanks to the Auxillary for their hard and impressive work on the dinner and the decorations.

2013 Toy run

Despite the inhospitable weather conditions, we were still able to to put together and execute an awesome toy run. At the end of the day we were able to collect a little over $500 to buy toys with for the Post's Christmas party on Saturday 12/21/13. A huge thank you goes out to everyone that helped and contributed. There will be a lot of happy kids and families thanks to your efforts.

Marine Corps

2013 Toys for Tots

The riders were fortunate enough to get to contribute and participate in this years run. Good times for a good cause.

Coats for kids & BIP

Rides Recap

Both the rides went really well this weekend. The VFW in Grants was able to raise well over $2000 for coats for kids and the post. I didn't catch the amount made for the BIP run but it was a great turn out so I assume it was a very good amount. Here are some pictures from the Coats run.
